The cornerstone to anyone's shoe shining kit is a good chamois cloth. Unlike an old t-shirt, the cotton chamois is a bit heavier in construction which makes it easier to polish smooth leathers. Also it makes it easier to massage cream wax into leather and it doesn't absorb into the cloth as fast as an old t-shirts. It's best when used with Saphir cream and hard waxes.
